Woman's Club of Raleigh - Background and Mission
Since 1904, when the Woman’s Club of Raleigh was first organized in the State Library Reading Room, the organization has served Raleigh, Wake County, and North Carolina. It has promoted education, preserved natural resources, encouraged healthy lifestyles, worked on behalf of the elderly and people with disabilities, advocated for issues of concern to women, children and families, and supported participation in the arts.
The Woman’s Club of Raleigh is part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, one of the largest and oldest volunteer service organizations with thousands of member clubs in the United States and in 20 foreign countries. The WCR is the largest club in the GFWC of North Carolina.
