Woman’s Club Showhouse Benefits

Raleigh, NC, July 23, 2008 --- On Wednesday, July 23, the leadership of the Woman’s Club of Raleigh presented $30,000 to Hospice of Wake County, a donation representing the net proceeds from the WCR 2008 ASID Designer Showhouse. The check presentation was held at the Woman’s Club of Raleigh’s building in

The WCR 2008 ASID Designer Showhouse was held in May at Ramblewood at North Hills. Showhouse partners in attendance at the July 23 event included the American Society of Interior Designers-Carolinas Chapter, Kane Residential, Hospice of Wake County and the Woman’s Club Showhouse Committee as well as other club members.
Barbara Umstead, 2008-2010 WCR president, chose Hospice of Wake County as the club’s Community Involvement Project during her term. In addition to funding the construction of the

Meditation
Garden
at Hospice of Wake County’s facility currently under construction, the Woman’s Club will also provide volunteer services and other goods to those using HOWC’s services. During the term of Julene McPhaul, WCR’s 2006-2008 president, Hospice of Wake County was the beneficiary of more than $40,000 in donations of cash, goods and volunteer services from the club’s members.
